Have you ever considered pursuing your undergraduate degree in Canada? Each year, the University of British Columbia (UBC) offers a number of merit- and need-based scholarships to international students accepted into any of its 43 undergraduate programs. Applications are now open! See more below:
Undergraduate Scholarships in Canada
There are three categories of scholarships. The first, the International Major Entrance Scholarship, is extendable for four years of undergraduate studies and can cover all tuition costs. The second, the Outstanding International Student Award, can also cover the full tuition cost, but the award is only offered in the first year of undergraduate studies. Students may be awarded both. Both are academic merit scholarships.
There is no need to submit a separate application for the scholarship: international students accepted by UBC are automatically considered for the grant ( see deadlines here). The evaluation criteria include academic performance and involvement in extracurricular activities. The announcement of selected students will begin between March and April 2024. More information on the institution’s website.
The International Scholars Program offers scholarships based on financial need and academic merit. The value of the scholarship, which is renewable, can cover tuition fees and also include assistance with other expenses. In addition to the scholarship, program participants are included in a community of leaders that offers various initiatives, such as retreats, workshops, experimental projects, events and more.
To apply for the International Scholars Program, you must complete an application formspecific to the program and submit a nomination from your school or a non-profit organization, as well as a letter of reference. The application deadline is November 15 , but you can submit your application to UBC (which must be submitted separately) until December 1. More information about the program here.
