BRASA, an association of Brazilians abroad, is offering scholarships for young people in need of financial assistance. The scholarships aim to help students pursue an undergraduate or postgraduate degree abroad, at excellent universities. Registration is open until April 15th.

According to the organization, the scholarship will partially cover the costs of the scholarship holder’s studies abroad. In addition, BRASA will also help with the student’s maintenance expenses (housing, transportation, food, and/or essential academic material).

Also according to the regulations, the exact value of the scholarship “will be defined according to the academic profile, socioeconomic condition, financial support already received from third parties, university costs and the duration of the course that the person is taking or will take.”

Application

To apply for scholarships for low-income young people from BRASA, you must have already been accepted onto an undergraduate or postgraduate course at a university abroad, with graduation expected from December 2024.

In addition, the candidate must also be a native or naturalized Brazilian, and must also demonstrate financial need.

The first stage of the process is to sign up on the program website. To do this, you will need to answer a questionnaire about your professional and academic life. Finally, the candidate must upload the following documents:

  • Proof of enrollment or acceptance letter from the destination university;
  • High school and university transcripts (if available);
  • Results of tests taken for university admission (such as TOEFL, IELTS, CAE, CPE and SAT, ACT, etc.);
  • Letter of recommendation from a teacher (a second letter of recommendation can also be optionally sent);
  • CV;
  • Certificates of participation in courses, olympiads, hackathons, etc.;
  • Financial documents from parents or guardians to prove low income.

In the following stages, candidates will be invited to interviews and panels.

Registration is open until April 15th. The remaining stages of the process will be carried out over the following months.
