Every year, international students interested in pursuing a postgraduate degree in Switzerland can count on the master’s scholarships offered by the Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Programme. The initiative is promoted by the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH), the university that educated none other than Albert Einstein.
Applications for master’s scholarships in Switzerland, which last an average of two years, remain open until November 30 .
ETH Zurich scholarship benefits
The Excellence Scholarship covers the cost of living in the European country and course materials, as well as exemption from academic fees. Each semester, the student receives financial aid of around 12 thousand Swiss francs.
To be eligible for scholarships, students must be among the top 10% of their undergraduate class, i.e. demonstrate academic excellence .
The application is the common application for the master’s degree in the country, in various courses at ETH Zurich. Among the documents requested are:
- two letters of recommendation
- an outline of the research project for the master’s degree, and
- a letter of motivation
