DAAD is offering scholarships for postgraduate courses in Germany in the following areas: Architecture, Performing Arts/Dance, Plastic Arts/Design/Visual Communication/Cinema, and Music . To apply, you must attend the last year of graduation at a Brazilian university or be a recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree.
Interested parties should choose the universities of their choice and normally apply for the 2024/25 semester. The application for the scholarship must be made separately, on the DAAD portal .
What DAAD Scholarships Offer
- Monthly grant of 934 euros for a period of 10 to 24 months, depending on the course
- Airfare
- Health insurance
- One-off grant to help pay tuition fees
In certain situations, Fellows may be entitled to the following additional benefits:
- Monthly rental allowance
- Monthly allowance for family companions
- In case of disability or chronic illness: subsidy for additional costs not covered by other funders
- Green Mobility Top Up (support for green travel) or partial refund of carbon offset payments for air travel
In order for those selected to improve their German language skills, there are also:
- Payment of online language course fees upon receipt of scholarship award letter
- If required, the DAAD may provide funding for a German course 2, 4, or 6 months before commencing studies in Germany. The duration and support for participation will be determined by the DAAD based on the individual’s proficiency in the German language skills and the project. Participation in a German course is mandatory if the teaching or working language is German
- Subsidy for a chosen German course during the scholarship period
- TestDaF or DSH test fee refund

Registration on the DAAD portal are already open for the first three areas. In the case of Plastic Arts/Design/Visual Communication/Cinema, applications will begin to be received approximately six weeks before the deadline. Do not forget that you first need to apply to universities.
