The University of Saskatchewanis accepting applications for international students who wish to pursue undergraduate or graduate programs in Canada . In 2024, 4 scholarships of CAD$20,000, approximately R$73,000 and another 4 of CAD$10,000, approximately R$37,000, will be offered to non-Canadian students.
Comprised of 12 faculties, there are currently around 3,380 international students at the university. To ensure the entry and permanence of these students, it maintains support programs for both international students and indigenous populations.
Saskatchewan is a public educational institution located in the city of Saskatoon, on the west coast of Canada. For those who like snow, the region is located in the north of the country and the average annual temperature ranges from -19°C to 26°C (it’s cold!). Among the various subsidies offered by the university, a portion is aimed at the indigenous population.
Scholarships in Saskatchewan
As a public institution, the university’s monthly fee is relatively lower when compared to other similar higher education institutions. For international students, bachelor’s degrees range from CAD$3,500 to around CAD$10,000 per year (medicine, pharmacy, veterinary and dentistry courses are more expensive). That is: with the value of the grants, it is possible to pay the annual fee for most courses and still have an amount left over to cover other expenses.

Students from outside Canada are offered two scholarship opportunities. The International Baccalaureate (IB) Excellence Awards , CAD $20,000, and the University of Saskatchewan International Excellence Awards , CAD $10,000. Both aim to support graduate students who are striving for success at the University of Saskatchewan. Scholarships are partial, however, Canada is one of the countries where it is possible to work part-time during academic training. The country maintains several policies to attract international students, so it ends up being more accessible for those who want to study abroad.
How to apply
To apply for one of the scholarships, it is necessary to apply for the normal admission process and pay the registration fee. Applicants must send the documents requested in the first step to the admissions department. The requested documentation includes school transcripts and proficiency certificates. Saskatchewan University acknowledges a range of language certificates including IELTS, TOEFL, CanTEST, CAEL, MELAB, PTE, CAE, and Duolingo.
